will.jpg     Cleaning Pip’s cage is my favorite job. First, I get him out of his cage to comb and pet him. Then I put him on the floor and make sure he doesn’t run away. I have to put his cage over him. Sometimes he climbs up the wall. Then I wash his cage. Finally, I put him in his cage and put his cage on the shelf.

Washing The Car

January 4, 2008

sam.jpg     My dad, my sister, and I like to wash the car. We put soap and water into a pail. I put soap on the sponge to wash the windows. I rub the windowsills on the car. Then I start all over again. It’s fun to watch the water go all the way down to the bottom of the car.

Washing the Dishes

January 4, 2008

rohanah.jpg I help at home by doing the dishes. I pick up the dishes and take them to the sink and my mother washes them. I get a cloth from on top of the fridge. My mother makes sure that there is no soap on the dishes. I dry the dishes and put them away into the cupboard.

Cleaning My Room

January 4, 2008

mackenzie.jpg      This is a story about cleaning my room.  First, I take out the trash.  That job makes me sick.  And that is not my favorite job!  Then, I put my toys away.  I have a toy box to put my toys somewhere.  Then, I dust the floors.  Sometimes it makes me sneeze and sometimes it makes me wheeze as I clean my room.  Then I try to make my bed, but I fall asleep instead.

Feeding My Fish

January 4, 2008

Feeding the fish is my chore at home.  First I get angel fish food.  It’s like seaweed.  It has many colors like seaweed.  Next, I go downstairs to feed it.  It lives alone because it likes to eat little fish.  Then I put five pinches in the fish tank.  After, I wash my hands and I watch the fish eat.  It’s boring, but I have to do it so it eats the right thing.  It’s a silly fish and sometimes it eats the branches off the fish tree.  Then, I have to take them out.

The candy wrappers on the floor are gold and red. I have to put them into the garbage. Sometimes candy is still in them. Finally, I pick up the toys and put them in my toy box. I have a lot of toys.

Building The Deck

January 4, 2008

connor.jpg     I liked building the deck with my dad.  First, I gave the working instructions to my dad.  He reads them out loud to me.  I helped my dad drive the Bobcat into my yard.  I smashed the old deck with the Bobcat.  My dad helped too.  I gave tools to dad.  He made sure they were right.  We used a lot of different tools like wrenches to tighten bolts and cut boards with a handsaw.  We used a tape measure to measure the boards. Then, we built the deck a lot better.  I felt proud that I helped because it was a hard job.

Cleaning My Room

January 4, 2008

aiden.jpg     I clean my room every Saturday.  First, I put my clothes into a pile.  Then, I sort them into two piles:  clean and dirty.  Then I clean the toys off the floor and put them where they belong.  I put my clean clothes in my drawers and the dirty clothes in the washroom down stairs.  Last, I vacuum all of the crumbs off the floor.  After that I yell to my mom, “I’m done.”
